J.S. Bach, BWV 1002, Partita 1 in B Minor, Tempo di Borea, Tutorial
This is a seriously fun video
aimed at all musicians, whether amateurs or concert performers, to make you smile and to help you see this piece in a new way.
Using the Tempo di Borea, BWV 1002 as a model, we explore a simple concept.
Many people think they are not proficient at theory, or that they don't have a good ear. However, we can learn a lot about the music at hand just by listening to it in its most basic terms; that is, whether it is going up or down or if it is playing one or several notes at a time. This exercise shows us how Bach, who we tend to think of as being complex, uses even the most rudimentary compositional devices to support his overall forms.
